Customer Review: Just Okay for mp3/mp4.
I bought it mainly to watch some of AVI movies I have, well it is useless for that propose, sound doesn't match the video frames, and after a while it starts jumping frames .. I have tried 8 different AVI clips and they all have the same problem.
MP3/MP4 player is not bad, but limited in features
It hangs once in a while
user manual is useless..
battery life is bad.. 2 1/2 hrs max..
very cheap quality, I can't remove my memory card....
I wish I could return it..
Customer Review: A Great Affordable Media Player!
After reading extensive reviews about the 16G 3" 16:9 TFT TouchScreen MP5 Player and similar IPod clones offered by Pro EB (PE) on Amazon.com, I decided to take a risk and order one.

While waiting for the player to arrive, I received a detailed e-mail from PE with links to the Pro EB online storefront that included helpful user manuals and online videos for my Touch media player

The TouchScreen Player arrived a few days later via USPS, bundled with:
USB cable
Electrical Outlet / USB attachment to recharge.
Telescoping aluminum wand.
Headphones with in-line volume adjustment knob.
Silicone protector.
Printed instruction manual.

Initial battery charge time took approximately 3.5 hours with later charges being around 2 hours.
While recharging, a 3-D animation of a battery filling up with metal rings plays on the screen. Once complete, the animation stops with an image a full battery. Kinda neat :)

The printed manual was a hard read as the English translation is rather rough.
The online guide is worlds apart from the manual; vastly expanded and as an added plus for me, it included tons of pictures and screenshots.

After using the Touch Player for a while, I did notice a few things:
* The player appears to handle almost any audio format thrown at it.
* For video, AVI files work best, followed by WMA and Real Player.
*MP4 files are a definite hit or miss with even the online guide admitting that MP4 playback on this player is not so hot.
A link to a free MP4 to AVI converter is included in the online guide and it makes file conversions a breeze.

Also:
* The Touch Player is indeed 16 Gigs. The purchase form states it in writing and the memory meter accessed via the "settings" icon on the player itself also states it with a handy "memory used" reading.
* This player accepts up to 4GB MICRO SD cards for memory expansion. Micro SDHC cards are not compatible.
* The player can recharge via USB when connected to the computer, simply click the "safely remove hardware" icon at the bottom of your computer screen if using Windows.
* The wand is OK but almost all of the navigation can be done with a nimble finger or the silver side buttons without issue.
* SLOW DOWN. Fast double clicks result in a non-response. "Click, pause, click" works best.
* In the case if no response for buttons around the edge of the screen, the touch area can be adjusted via the "settings" icon.
* The bundled USB cable is so short that it's unusable if your computer tower sits under the desk. I tried a USB cable left over from a digital camera that's 6ft long and it works perfectly.
* Be careful. This little player is a tad delicate and very light. The bundled silicone protector is a godsend and will guard against knocks and bumps.

After loading 100 + songs and 5 Movies on the player and using it all week, I am extremely impressed.
Several of my co-workers are taking advantage of this very affordable player and ordering them as presents. I took their lead and ordered a second one as a gift myself!

Customer Review: Another cheap knock-off
This was my second shot at trying out a cheap chinese copy. It had 5 pretty good reviews and seemed to be what I needed.

Pros: - cheap price
- pretty good screen detail / pretty good size at 3"
- FF/Rewind works quite well (and needs to! see cons)
- compact: about the size of a credit card

Cons: - screen very dim even on brightest setting
- battery life worse with each charge (down to about 20 minutes for video)
- the volume control button doubles as the "back" button - work it wrong and you bail on your movie.
- a very weak decoder: less then half the AVI's I've tried don't work. The player will often hang in some spots of "good" AVI's and dump you out completely - requiring you to start over and fast forward past the problem area (one movie I'm trying to watch tonight has had 5 spots requiring restart - and still haven't finished it)
- the built in speaker is useless

Beware of all these no-name players. I suspect they all have the same internal hardware but simply wrapped up in different cases with variations on their controls and screen sizes.

I will be investing in a Video IPod, Zune, or other name brand player. I would recommend saving the headache of one of these crappy players and just shell out the extra cash for a "real" one.

Customer Review: Not perfect, but for $55 not too bad.
I just got this player. Surprised by the video image, though I do have a few complaints. Sound is good, and the screen quality is sharp and crisp. Contrary to another review here on Amazon, this player does play both .avi and .AVI in their original format with no conversion needed, and it does not care if the file extension is upper or lower case. The motion quality could be better, and much of the time audio to video synchronization is off. The motion can be jerky. This player does come with a very small, worthless speaker in the back case. Headphones supplied are two pair. The black set with volume control is the quality pair, and plays loud and clear. The cheap set is nice to have if you have kids and want to keep the better set for yourself, or when they get a little older. Loosing the cheaper set is no big deal, but nice that they have included two pair. The only other thing is that the player depicted in this photo shows black with red. Mine came as white with red, so what you get color wise may not be exactly the same. The product to me is worth the $55 because no converting is required. It's a tradeoff. Maybe a better qaulity name brand plays better, but I don't have the time to convert movies. It's very convenient, and small. Some suggestions to the makers. Smooth out the motion, get the audio sync'd and integrate a fold out stand on the back case so like a small picture frame, this player could stand up on its own without leaning it against things to watch it hands free. It's not an iPod, or a Zen, but then again, it's not a couple hundred bucks either, and no wasted conversion times. Just drag and drop. One last thing that happened but not the end of the world. While watching the same movie, it will jump to the next movie for no reason at all when it hits the same point in the middle of the first movie? Maybe, just some kind of a bug, but I just go back and fast forward past the trouble spot, and it works fine the rest of the movie. Something in the movie file causes this, but it's weird how part of the file can cause a function chnage in the player? All in all I'm still happy because of no file conversions!

Customer Review: Well worth it
This product is great. I had read some of the reviews prior to purchasing and it was really hit or miss. Perhaps it really just depends on what you are expecting. My expectations were for soley to have music while I worked out. I bought this to wear for my morning lap swimming. This was my first mp3 player of any kind.

It was very easy to set-up and I've even taken to wearing it during my runs as well with a regular pair of headphones. The sound quality to me is great; I have not noticed any difference between regular headphones and the waterproof ones provided while I am swimming.

The unit is very light and easy to attach to a pair of goggles. It doesn't affect my swimming, I hardly notice it at all. Every once in a while the wire will lay against the side of my neck but after a couple of strokes it will correct itself and go back to where you don't even notice it.

I did have an issue with my first pair of headphones having different volumes and then the right side completely giving out randomly with sound. Speedo was very efficient and sent me a new pair that arrived in a couple of days at no cost. These second headphones have not caused me any problems. I don't know if it is because I wear a swimcap so the cap is pushing the headphones against my head but I will have to say they are not the most comfortable headhphones I've ever worn. Once I've started swimming they don't bother me, but afterwards my ears are sore for a couple of moments after I take them out. Does it bother me enough to stop using them? No. Would they make me consider giving up on using the Aquabeat? Not a chance.
Customer Review: Works pretty good...room for improvement
The interface to load playlists is pretty elementary for Mac. If you want music to play in a certain order, it requires adding numbers to the song files. Otherwise, it will line them up in alphabetical order when you drag them into the folder that loads on to the device itself.

I purchased this to use for swimming laps and for that it works like a charm. It comes with two sizes of ear buds. They are not the most comfortable, but they stay in your ear pretty well. The sound is comparable to any mp3 player. Once water creeps in to the ear in between the speakers and your ear drum the music can become a little muffled.

However, its much better than nothing and the experience of swimming with music can be an exhilarating experience.

Customer Review: Great media player, terrible battery life
I first must say that the one I received came from China. It was an amazingly fast delivery considering it came from China. Second, the media player I received didn't look much like the one that's in the picture above. The one I have, I have 3 buttons on the side. In the pic above there aren't any buttons.

The player functions pretty well. The software it came with it's very hard to get music on the player using it. I resulted to copy and pasting my mp3 to the player by folder to folder. Most of the time when I start the software, the player goes unrecognized by my computer. I thought that was weird lol.

Lastly, the battery life SUCKS! If you are a traveler, DO NOT get this media player. I'll charge my player all night, when I take it with me and use it for about 5-10 minutes the 1st bar of the battery goes! What the heck? So I don't advise this for travelers.
Customer Review: LOOKS EXPENSIVE
This PMP is of very good quality and it appears to be a lot more expensive than it actually is, The Screen has very good resolution The downside is the lighting, it's not bright enough So you will have trouble when watching in daylight and viewing dark scenes, it also has a small problem with the viewing angle where it's hard to see if it's pointing straight at you, you will have to tilt the player and find a good comfortable viewing angle, if you want this pmp for music i recommend it but for watching videos i don't recommend it, Overall This PMP is worth it's price

Pros:
plays mp3, wave, midi, kar and other format files; has composer mode; records (selectable resolution) via mic input

Cons:
No external power supply connector, eats batteries. PC software has a few bugs, don't know about the Mac s/w. Needs more generic styles than just the x-hop, mod stuff; i.e. rock, jazz, blues, pop, etc. Needs a better GUI for the "hiway/dj" mode. Fine for non-musicians, but lame if you want real control. A midi/grid type editor would be real cool. Also the headset-mic is junk, but it demos the possibilities. Last, I can't get the unit to use more than 32MB of a 128MB SmartMedia card. Tech support is good so far, but we're still working on it. As usual, most companies will or can not come out and tell you what the bugs are.

Still a way cool product, despite my cons list. I have a hunch they'll fix most of these issues.
Customer Review: Making Beautiful Movie Music Together
Iýve had my MadPlayer since Christmas and I just downloaded the free firmware upgrade. Now everything is easy. You could do it all before, but it took other cables, and playing it into your computer sound card. But now I can make original songs and then play them right to my hard drive through the USB cable, or I can even convert them to wav files right on MadPlayer. I make movies, and what I bought it for was to make soundtracks for my films. You can show films with pirated music in them for very local festivals. But once you try get serious they wonýt even consider your film unless you have signed releases for every piece of music thatýs in itýand you canýt get releases, you have to pay. Not with my budget!
I have made amazing songs, or I guess a lot of them you would call musical interludes, for all kinds of film situations. Iýve even created all of my sound effects on the player, sometimes just by isolating one track, like the bass, and slowing it way down, and sometime by recording sounds into the MadPlayer and then using the special effects to change or edit the sound. Whatýs really crazy, and I had never even thought of it at the start, but when I make a feature length film I could even make a soundtrack CD and sell it at the festivals, because I can copyright all the music I make with MadPlayer. My first product tie in!
I canýt say enough about it. Even though Iým not trying to make ýsongsý with it, that you would sing or rap over, or for dancing, I have generated dozens really hot beats that Iýve burned to a CD just to keep. I think thereýs a film there, too, and I just donýt know what it will be about yet.
I have done one other thing with it thatýs worth mentioning. Iýve brought it on trips in my car, playing it through the cassette deck with an adapter. I filled the whole card with Karaoke files I got off the net. My daughter does not like to travel. But she and my wife sang karaoke from NYC all the way to Philadelphia, and it was the best trip weýve ever taken. If youýve got kids, and youýve lived through one those nightmare drives, you know what I mean. I donýt think anyone not related to them would want to hear them sing ýShake your body, do the congaý (I donýt know the title) but it sure beat all the yelling and whining that most of our drives usually end up as.
